Stories of Courage is a podcast project designed to highlight the deep, rippling effects domestic violence has on people’s lives.
The insidious nature of domestic violence often silences those who have experienced it. This project aims to give them a voice.
These podcasts, together with our commemorative memorials, The Place of Courage, will shift personal experiences of domestic violence out of the shadows and into the public sphere, enabling us to start a vital conversation, and encouraging everyone to take action. Together these initiatives will unite, heal, and empower our community.
Spirit of Woman founder Helen Oxenham OAM has shared her incredible story. You can too.
Who tells the stories?
Tiarne Cook is an audio storyteller with a passion for telling human stories of vulnerability, connection, and character. Currently she is working as a radio producer in Adelaide, but has experience telling stories across many different mediums. In her work, she hopes to give previously unheard voices a platform.
No story is too big, or too small.
Do you have lived experience? Share your story with us…
If you have lived experience of domestic violence and want to share your story, as part of our podcast, please fill out the form below and the Spirit of Woman team will be in touch.
We recognise these are often difficult, sensitive things to discuss, but it is people like you who can create a ripple of hope in our community that will spread far and wide, touching others and giving them the strength to join the conversation.
